The Oakdale neighborhood lies just north of Oakwood with a small portion of Historic Oakwood pushing into Oakdale. The neighborhood sits just east of Wake Forest Road. Most of the houses in Oakdale from the 1920’s to the 1950’s when the area was developed during the building boom following World War I.
